DESCRIPTION: During one of our breaks, Engelbart presented his early rendition of the mouse. I asked him how many sketches he made for making a prototype: just one!

The casing is made of mahogany wood. Turning it over, two disks are vertical ly and horizontally positioned. Each disc moves independently. This was the original device used for communicating with Augment. On the top of the casing there is a single button that is used for clicking.

Also, as opposed to current technology, the original mouse has the cord coming out of the back of the unit. Thus giving it the name "the mouse."
